§ 88-3. Matters handled.

  • Said Traffic Violations Bureau is hereby authorized to dispose of such violations of traffic laws, ordinances, rules and regulations as the Police Justice Court may, in its discretion, determine but only when such offenses shall not constitute the traffic infraction known as speeding or a misdemeanor or felony, by permitting a person charged with an offense within the limitations herein stated, to answer, at any time from the date of the issuance of the summons up to and including the day before the return date of the summons, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at the Traffic Violations Bureau, either in person or by written power of attorney in the form prescribed in § 88-10 hereof, by paying a prescribed fine and, in writing, waiving a hearing in court, pleading guilty to the charge and authorizing the person in charge of the Bureau to make such a plea and pay such a fine in court.
