§ 13-4. Coverage.

  • For the purposes of this local law, a member of the village's auxiliary police force shall be deemed an employee of the village, as that term is defined in § 2, Subdivision 4, of the Workers' Compensation Law, when such an auxiliary police officer is engaged in one or more of the following designated services or activities, as authorized by the Commissioner of Police. An auxiliary police officer shall be deemed to be employed by the village, as that term is defined within the meaning of § 2, Subdivision 5, of the Workers' Compensation Law, solely for the services or activities identified below:
    A. 
    Preservation of the peace.
    B. 
    Protection of life and property.
    C. 
    Prevention and detection of crime.
    D. 
    Control over vehicular traffic.
    E. 
    Mutual aid to the regular police officers.
